Holiday Weight

I think I gained three or four pounds over the Thanksgiving weekend.  I’m devastated!  Not really, but I’m quite disappointed at myself because I think just screwed up my power to weight ratio! It’s like self control has succumbed to being thankful over food and not the spirit of Thanksgiving.  Okay maybe that’s taking it a tad too far.  To those of you who’ve been riding for a while now or are physically in good shape you know where your weight needs to be. You probably get on that scale and smile most days and say “Yeah that’s right”.  If you get on that scale the next day and see that it is off, you then decide to put in a few extra miles or workouts over the weekend.  No problem, end of story.  But holiday weight, come on! I get bit by this every year and I can’t seem to control it. Seriously, I think I need a good week and a half of fasting and riding to get back to where I need to be.  Not a bad idea except for the fasting thing. Well enough whining and time to get on with the program.  I’m off to read this link I found about weight loss at Velonews tonight. Read the Time Crunched Cyclist book whenever.  Put on my riding kit tomorrow, strap the Polar HRM on, start the cyclemeter app and start riding my way to fitness. I’ve got a new inspiration for getting fit and its cranberry fueled!  Goal setting baby!

Now if I can somehow get my wife to buy me a power meter for Christmas…
